From Flagstaff to the Moon: How NASA is Preparing to Explore the Lunar Surface

With the upcoming Artemis Moon Mission, NASA plans to send the first woman and the first person of color to the Moon. Join University of Maryland professor and leader of NASA’s GEODES project Nick Schmerr on August 4, 2023 for a presentation about how research at the San Francisco volcanic fields outside of Flagstaff, AZ will help astronauts prepare to explore the Moon. The talk begins in the Giclas Lecture Hall at 8pm and will run for about 20 minutes.
