Starting Jan. 31, Lowell Observatory will reopen General Admission with updated guest protocols.
The Omicron variant, which led to a spike in positive COVID-19 tests earlier this month, is in decline here in Coconino County. Due to this and the nature of Omicron’s transmissibility and virulence, Lowell Observatory will no longer require a negative test or proof of vaccination for entry. Masks will be required indoors at all times, and science talks inside the Visitors Center will be temporarily suspended.
Lowell Observatory public-facing staff are fully vaccinated and will wear N95 masks at all times while indoors. We strongly encourage others in our community to do the same to help prevent further spread of COVID-19. We will continue to follow the data to determine our status, so please stay tuned on social media and our website at lowell.edu for updates. Thank you for your continued support and understanding.
