Yet if joy is our only agenda in these endeavors, we risk missing out on the many layers of life that are poignantly human by letting moments that are truly honest and heartfelt slip past us. These moment of deep connection make life rich.
In this Open Floor Workshop we will practice tools of embodiment that let us explore the dance in relationship to ourselves and others.
We will practice:
· cultivating the ability to be relaxed and available in our bodies and in relationship
· finding center and ground so we can be present as things get unpredictable
· noticing and including our natural tendencies in relationship and opening to new possibilities
· creating room to move with freedom in relationship to the present moment
Conscious dance is a great equalizer. We fumble and have fun together. We give ourselves room to show up with layers of shadow and light. We acknowledge perfection in exploring the profound and profane. We put it all in motion and connect to this dynamic conversation called human life.
Jenny Macke is dedicated towards serving community and creating space for others to find their freedom of expression. She has a Master’s in Leadership Education and a whole slew of movement certifications but mostly her greatest qualification is that she is a wild and wiley dancer. In dance she loves to weave in mystery while working with grounded and resourced embodiment practices. In the last few years her focus in teaching has shifted to the wise web of teachings in the Open Floor (www.openfloor.org) Prior to this her teaching practice was rooted in the 5rhythms® for over 9 years and she continues to explore and express through many conscious movement practices.
