Watchable Wildlife at Mormon Lake!

Mormon Lake is the largest natural lake in Arizona…sometimes. During droughts it is frequently not so large, and not so much a lake.  Occasionally it’s even bone dry. Wet or not, this has an excellent overlook where you can often see elk in the late summer—even hundreds of elk hanging out in the lake bed! Waterfowl, a variety of hawks, and other wildlife can also be observed in the area.
This event is free. Dress in layers, bring binoculars, water, and snacks. Dogs will have to be leashed. This event will be contingent on forest closures, fire restrictions or access issues, and on suitable weather.
