Strategies for Teaching Black History

Are you interested in learning about new resources and practices for teaching Black history in the classroom? Joins us for a virtual conversation June 19th at 2pm.

Join Shelly Gordon and Lisa Olson, co-founders of The 1619 Project Advocates of Arizona, English Language Arts teacher Christina Sneed and one of her students for a virtual conversation about teaching Black history and drawing from The 1619 Project. The panel will discuss the challenges and successes of bringing this important work to the classroom and how it is engaging students in new and unexpected ways.
