Every Brilliant Thing is an immersive, audience interactive, one-actor production.

The show pulls back the curtain on what it’s like to be a child of a suicidal mother, and the lengths we go for those we love. The story explores depression and hope, uncertainty and change, confusion and joy, heartbreak and anger, relationships and solitude, risk and resistance, guilt and forgiveness.

The Storyteller interacts with audience members to talk about life with their mother’s depression as a backdrop – including the effects it has on their own life and relationships. Based on true and untrue stories, Every Brilliant Thing is an affirming tale of how to achieve hope by focusing on the smallest miracles of life.

This show has been hailed as “transcendent,” “candid,” and “compassionate” by theatre companies across the country. Simon Says Theatre is proud to host this redemptive, healing, and hopeful production in collaboration with Beacon Unitarian Universalist Church in Downtown Flagstaff.

This show contains discussion about depression, self-harm, and suicide.
