Pilcrowe Album Release Celebration w/ Viola and the Brakemen

The members of the Flagstaff, Arizona-based Pilcrowe have been musical partners for more than a decade, first coming together in the folk-rock band Crow Wing and then later teaming up in the rootsy Voluntary String Band. Guitarist Ryan Heinsius and drummer Andrew Lauher draw on their years of experience with varied musical styles in Pilcrowe, fusing acoustic singer-songwriter-oriented folk with electrified Americana-rock.

Viola & the Brakemen brings a sensational mix of original music written by Brian White and inspired by Our Lady of Fatima – a woman brighter than the sun, shedding rays of light clearer and stronger than a crystal goblet filled with the most sparkling water and pierced by the burning rays of the sun.  Viola & the Brakemen is Matthew Robinson on guitar and pedal steel, Matthew Tress on percussion, Jessica Ludwig on vocals, and Steve Giese on bass.  This team creates the sounds heard in Brian’s head.
