Northern Arizona Celtic Society & Daren Burns Quartet

Summer Nights on the Square presents Downtown Friday Nights featuring performances by Northern AZ Celtic Society and Daren Burns Quartet.

NACHS was founded in 1997. The Northern Arizona Celtic Heritage Society is dedicated to presenting, promoting, and preserving Celtic culture. Their goal is to educate the public about the heritage, language, traditions, art, and history of the Celtic people both ancient and modern.

Fretless electric bassist, teacher, and composer/improviser, Daren Burns has been an active musician for almost 30 years, playing in every conceivable format; from rock, to jazz, and experimental music. He sites Wadada Leo Smith as his musical mentor and much of his musical interest lies in the area of how to balance composition and improvisation in various ensemble formats. In recent years he has also become interested in classical Indian rhythmic and melodic systems and integrated electronic performance.
