The Natural History Hike explores Coconino County’s biodiversity. Being the second largest county in the contiguous United States, Coconino County has an enormous expanse of land that contains an abundance of diverse wildlife and landscapes, owing to its range of elevation from Humphrey’s Peak at 12,633 ft (the highest point in Arizona) to the depths of the Colorado River within Grand Canyon as it flows into Mohave County, roughly 10,000 ft lower.
