Located on the west flank of the San Francisco Peaks, Bismarck Lake Trail is 1.5 miles long and feeds into the Arizona Trail. The trail and lake are in a large meadow and have excellent views of the San Francisco Peaks. Aspen leaves should be turning, and the solar eclipse will happen while we are out on the trail!
You will need transportation to and from the trailhead as well as water, snacks, sun protection, and shoes for hiking.

From Flagstaff, go north on US 180, pass milepost 225 and turn right onto Forest Road 151 (south entrance to Hart Prairie Road). Go 6.4 miles on FR 151 to FR 627 (signed for Bismarck Lake), turn right and continue 0.6 miles to the trailhead. FRs 151 and 627 are maintained and passable by sedan.
