Love thy enemy neighbor

Presented by Northern Arizona University, College of Arts and Letters at Liberal Arts Room 123, Flagstaff AZ

Apr 04 2024
Love thy enemy neighbor

Join Dr. Jennifer Wargin for a discussion of political polarization and Martin Luther King Jr’s Account of Agapeic Love as a virtuous response to this social tragedy.

Studies suggest political polarization is intensifying in the United States, especially among political elites. This polarization is problematic as it leads to governmental dysfunction, which, in turn, threatens public well-being. Martin Luther King Jr.’s agapeic love ethic—it's groundlessness, it's inclusivity, and it's creativity—is a virtuous method for responding to political polarization.
