Jim and Susie Malcolm

Scottish singers Jim and Susie Malcolm are the very embodiment of the Carrying Stream, which has preserved and passed on the traditional music and song of Scotland for centuries. Their concerts include songs and tunes that are hundreds of years old, handed down from generation to generation by word of mouth, a living musical history.

Jim Malcolm has been bringing the traditional music of Scotland to audiences across the United States for more than 20 years, joined more recently by his wife Susie, herself an award-winning traditional singer.  Susie holds a special knowledge of the musical traditions of North East Scotland. She was the first woman ever to win a singing competition for Bothy Ballads, agricultural songs, and has been singing in folk clubs and at festivals around Scotland since her early 20s.
