CANCELED!! I Go On Singing: Paul Robeson's Life in Word and Song

On Sunday, September 18th at 3pm in Kitt Recital Hall, distinguished baritone Anthony Brown (Pennsylvania) will present “I Go On Singing,” a multimedia documentary concert about the life of Paul Robeson. Perhaps most widely known for his rendition of “Ol’ Man River” in Showboat, he also made a mark as an All-American athlete and a lawyer, and was known internationally for political activism. In the words of performer Anthony Brown: “He took all of that spirit of striving for human rights and equality into the arts, and used the arts as a way to speak out for justice and for his people, and for people all over the world who were victims of all forms of oppression. I think that’s the legacy of Paul Robeson.” Sponsored by the Kitt School of Music, Martin-Springer Institute, NAU Honors College, NAU Comparative Cultural Studies, Southside Community Association, and the Lived Black Experience Project.
