Chairs for Change

Chairs for Change is benefit for girls education organizations One New Education and The Malala Fund. There are 50 chairs, benches, desks, & stools that have been transformed into art sculptures that will be auctioned off to raise funds for these organizaitons. Bruce Aiken, Emma Gardner, Gwen Waring , Shawn Skabelund to name a few are donating chairs along side art students from FALA, Flagstaff schools and NAU.

We will also show the film "Girl Rising" a ground breaking feature film about the strength of human spirit and the power of education to transform societies.

Malala Yousufzai states, " I don't mind if I have to sit on the floor at school. All I want is an education. And I fear no one." This statement embodies the chair a symbol for all girls to have an education, it is basic human right. 

The event starts at 5pm with refreshments, mingling and bidding on the chairs. We will then transition tothe auditorium and hear from Christa Sadler, Co-chair of One New Education and watch film at 6:00pm. Back to gallery to finish bidding on chairs. Auction closes at 8:30. Take home beautiful chairs.
