Julie Anand and Damon Sauer were artists-in-residence at the Grand Canyon Conservancy in the summer of 2023.
The collaborative pair lived and worked on the South Rim for a month and synthesized this experience throughout Fall and Winter.
The artists explored ways of representing an ineffable and widely seen landscape—withholding detail to preserve gravity—using strategies including video time-lapse, interviews, and photographic prints.
