The August 2015 Full Moon is called a Supermoon. This full moon was known by early Native American tribes as the Full Sturgeon Moon and has also been known as the Green Corn Moon and the Grain Moon. The Moon will be at its closest approach to the Earth and often seems larger and brighter than usual.
Come join fellow community members on a Full Moon hike led by a Coconino County Recreation Leader and enjoy the nighttime sky. We’ll be looking at various constellations, scheduled satellites, and more. Approximate length: 3 mi roundtrip, less than 500 ft of elevation gain.
