Flagstaff Film Noir Festival

The Artists’ Coalition of Flagstaff is presenting 8 major, classic film noirs at the 2nd Annual Flagstaff Film Noir Festival at the newly opened Harkins 16 Multiplex on SATURDAY AND SUNDAY OCTOBER 28th and 29th. Stars appearing in the films include JAMES CAGNEY, FRANK SINATRA, HUMPHREY BOGART, LAUREN BACALL, BURT LANCASTER, AVA GARDNER, EDWARD G. ROBINSON, and MARILYN MONROE. The Festival will be exhibiting the films with state of the art projection, and again bringing in expert presenters to enhance the enjoyment of knowledge of each film screened. The cost of tickets for the Festival are: Single tickets: $10.00. An all access, all 8 film, two day pass is $60.00. Individual tickets are available through the HARKINS 16 ticketing web site and in person anytime at the theater. The discounted two day passes are available at the ARTS CONNECTION, FLAGSTAFF MALL 7 days a week during regular hours.

Guest Presenter Foster Hirsch: 
Professor of Film at Brooklyn College, Foster Hirsch is the author of 15 books on film and theater. Among his titles are: THE DARK SIDE OF THE SCREEN: FILM NOIR; DETOURS AND LOST HIGHWAYS: A MAP OF NEO-NOIR; OTTO PREMINGER: THE MAN WHO WOULD BE KING; ACTING HOLLYWOOD STYLE; and LOVE, SEX, DEATH, AND THE MEANING OF LIFE: THE FILMS OF WOODY ALLEN. He is now at work on a history of Hollywood in the 1950s. He is a frequent host/moderator at many venues including The National Arts Club and Film Forum in New York and has lectured on film in Dubai, Israel, Russia, Finland, Germany, Italy, England, France, China, and New Zealand. Foster will be introducing many of the films on our program.
