Praised by the New York Times for his “Lisztian thunder and deft fluidity,” and the San Francisco Chronicle as “ferociously virtuosic,” pianist Paul Barnes has electrified audiences with his intensely expressive playing and cutting-edge programming.
Inspired by the untimely passing from cancer of many of his closest friends, Dr. Barnes explores the profound musical treatment of love and death in the music of Philip Glass, Franz Liszt, and ancient Byzantine chant.
Free Parking for the Horizons Concert Series is available in Lots P3 (behind Gammage), P8 (north of the College of Education on Knoles Dr.), and P4 (ADA stalls near Ashurst - must have hangtag). visit nau.edu/maps for directions.
