We’ll start with the basics, making2D felt coasters in the morning, and then creating seamless 3D vessels in the afternoon. Along the way we’ll experiment with color and design in felt. You’ll leave this workshop with a couple of small felted items, a solid understanding wet felting techniques, and lots of ideas for future projects!
All levels/no experience necessary. You should have moderate hand and arm strength, and be prepared to put some energy into your felt—it can be a good workout!
What to bring: Comfortable clothing and shoes which can get wet, and two old towels. You may want to bring a plastic bag to take wet work home in. Optional: You are also welcome to bring any wool/alpaca fibers you are curious about felting (these should be in roving or batt form)
Pricing: $62 – Arts Council members / $70 – General
Materials Fee: $15 (Includes all wool needed to complete projects in class, and use of all tools you will need.)
