Pride and Prejudice

Pride and Prejudice

Presented by Northern Arizona University, College of Arts and Letters at Clifford E. White Theater

One of the best loved stories in English literature, Jane Austen’s Pride and Prejudice is retold in a refreshingly fast-paced and engaging new adaptation by Joseph Hanreddy and J.R. Sullivan. The story centers on a lively, enthusiastic, and discombobulated family, the Bennets. At the helm is the determined, but terribly trivial Mrs. Bennet, her flummoxed but doting husband and their five daughters, all of marriageable age. So imagine the commotion when a wealthy young man and his fetching friend arrive on the scene. The daughters are eager, with one exception, the stunning, and independent, Elizabeth. She has no interest in the attractive and mysterious Mr. Darcy, who is equally aloof. Their tangled relationship captures our imagination, and we hope for love to triumph. A timeless tale of wit, romance and the battle of the sexes--this adaptation is so much fun!
