One Giant Leap: Flagstaff's Contributions to Sending Men to the Moon

One Giant Leap: Flagstaff's Contributions to Sending Men to the Moon

Presented by Riordan Mansion State Historic Park at Riordan Mansion State Historic Park

Flagstaff played an important role in preparing the Apollo astronauts for their moon missions. From testing equipment and techniques at places such as the cinder fields, Sunset Crater, Meteor Crater and the Grand Canyon, to producing lunar maps and charts at the U.S. Geological Survey and Lowell Observatory, Flagstaff served as an important preparation site for lunar exploration. Even the Coconino County Superior Court was involved. Come find out for yourself. Presented by Kevin Schindler, Lowell Observatory.
