How Old Is the Grand Canyon?
Wayne Ranney, Geologist and Author

National media recently focused on a research paper which stated that some parts of the Grand Canyon might be 70 million years old, and that dinosaurs might have gazed into the gorge. However, widely regarded theories for the Canyon’s formation state that it cannot be older than six million years old. Which is right? Join Ranney as he lays out the evidence for an old Grand Canyon and equally compelling evidence for a young Canyon. Ranney wrote Carving Grand Canyon and is well versed in the controversy and its possible resolution. Short presentation followed by lively discussion and Q&A! Doors open at 6:30 p.m. Cash bar.
