A Midsummer Night's Dream

A Midsummer Night's Dream

Presented by Flagstaff Symphony Orchestra and Flagstaff Shakespeare Festival at Ardrey Auditorium, Northern Arizona University Campus

Shakespeare's "A Midsummer Night’s Dream," a play about the adventures of four young lovers, the mischievous antics of a group of amateur actors, and the magical world of fairies, will come to life set to the music written by Felix Mendelssohn, performed by the Flagstaff Symphony Orchestra, and featuring actors from the Flagstaff Shakespeare Festival. The performance also features dancers from the NAU Community Music and Dance Academy and singers from NAU's treble choirs.
"A Midsummer Night's Dream" is a comedy that portrays the events surrounding the marriage of Theseus, the Duke of Athens, and Hippolyta, the Queen of the Amazons. Mendelssohn’s composition includes an overture and a series of music pieces that are performed alongside the theatrical production. Mendelssohn's music beautifully captures the enchanting atmosphere of the play and has become one of his most celebrated works.

Join us on February 17th, at 7:30 pm in Ardrey Auditorium for this one-of-a-kind performance! The pre-concert reception, a time of community and connection, is in the Kitt Recital Hall Atrium at NAU starting at 6 pm.
