In a groundbreaking initiative aimed at fostering creativity, healing, and community, the Artists’ Coalition of Flagstaff proudly announces the launch of a comprehensive and FREE art program exclusively for US military veterans.
Recognizing the therapeutic and transformative power of art, the Veterans Art Program invites veterans of all skill levels to immerse themselves in a diverse range of artistic expressions. This initiative seeks to provide support for veterans to channel their creativity, enabling them to navigate the multitude of challenges they face.

Program Highlights: A Palette of Possibilities
The Veterans Art Program will offer an extensive array of artistic media, ensuring that
participants of all skill levels can explore and find their preferred mode of expression. From
drawing, acrylic and watercolor painting to ceramics, clay sculpture, and resin work, the program
will cover the spectrum of artistic disciplines, and its offerings will expand to reflect the interests
of the participants.

Program Benefits: Beyond the Canvas
The benefits of art therapy for veterans are well-documented, contributing to improved mental
health, reduced stress, and enhanced overall well-being. By engaging in creative activities,
veterans can develop coping mechanisms, build a sense of community, and rediscover a sense of
purpose, through Therapeutic Healing, Skill Development and Exploration, and Community
Connection.
Supporting Partnerships
The Artists’ Coalition of Flagstaff’s Veterans Art Program is made possible through a grant from
the Arizona Veterans Administration, with supplemental funding from Creative Flagstaff, The
Arizona Commission on the Arts, and the Arizona Community Foundation.
These organizations share a commitment to the well-being of veterans and recognize the
importance of creative outlets in the healing process.

is: ”...to encourage and promote artistic growth and professional development of local
artists and to create a forum for the arts within the Greater Flagstaff community and
Northern Arizona through exhibitions and educational programs...”
Committed to making a positive impact on the lives of far under served veterans, the organization
strives to provide innovative and effective programs that address the unique needs of those who
have served in the US military.
The program is being supported by a grant from the Arizona Veterans Administration, with

Arizona Community Foundation.
