Learn Crochet

Learn Crochet

Presented by Coconino Community College at Coconino Community College Lone Tree Campus

Similar to knitting, crochet is the process of creating fabric by looping yarn with a crochet hook. Whether you’re looking for a healing hobby, a creative escape, or a way to expand your love of fiber arts, this course will launch your journey in the world of crochet. The course is for beginners and is specially designed to be motivating and to progress quickly thanks to the little projects associated with each lesson. You will learn the basics such as creating chains, and a number of crochet stitches. Each class will be project based as you learn to make a boho bracelet, mug rug, keychains, and more.

Alyssa Carpenter is a crochet fanatic! When she was 14 years old, her friend's mom showed her how to crochet and she has been 'hooked' ever since. In her twenties, she took a fresh look at this timeless craft and discovered that crochet could be modern, and certainly has its place in the 21st century. You can follow her crochet projects on Instagram @lyssamaxcrochet. Alyssa has a Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, and a Master's in Education; she currently works as an instructional designer training coordinator for a tech company.
