From the time we are young we learn how to acquire skills, possessions, and relationships; however, few people are taught what to do when we lose them. All humans are affected by grief. This class is not faith-based and is open to all regardless of religious beliefs. Couples or close friends should not take this class together. For this class the instructor recommends purchasing The Grief Recovery Handbook, by John W. James.

Thomas Ellington is a licensed and ordained chaplain, has a Master of Divinity degree, and is a certified grief recovery specialist.  Since retiring from the U.S. Air Force after 25 years of service he has served as hospital chaplain, a high school JROTC instructor, and currently enjoys teaching, entertaining and giving tours, with the Grand Canyon Railway and Polar Express.
