Flagstaff volunteers of the AZ chapter of Moms Demand Action for Gun Sense in America will hold a 10-year Remembrance Event to honor the 26 victims of the shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary School.
On December 14th, it will have been 10 years since the Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting took place in Newtown, Connecticut killing 20 innocent children and 6 educators. It's expected that by Dec 14th this year over 1 million Americans will have been killed or injured by guns. During the anniversary month of this tragedy, the Newtown Action Alliance Foundation will hold a National Vigil for All Victims of Gun Violence at St. Mark's Episcopal Church in Washington, DC. In addition, they are asking that gun violence prevention organizations nationwide host vigils and other events to educate our communities on the growing number of victims of gun violence in America and engage more people to join efforts to reduce it. Flagstaff volunteers of the AZ chapter of Moms Demand Action for Gun Sense in America, will hold a Remembrance Event for All Victims of Gun Violence on Wednesday, December 14th, at the Murdoch Community Center from 5:30 -7:00pm. We will have music, refreshments, speakers, and a candlelight vigil. This is the 4th year that we are participating in this nationwide effort. At this event, we will honor all victims of gun violence as well as address steps to prevent it. We will have several speakers from the community as well as music and refershments.
