Join award-winning filmmaker Deidre Peaches as she introduces her film “Lifeways of the Little Colorado River,” October 7 at 7:30 PM. The film, courtesy of the Grand Canyon Trust, spotlights eleven indigenous people as they explain the importance and sacred nature of the waterway to their culture and survival. Exhibit viewing and music by Tha ‘Yoties begins at 6:00pm. The event is in conjunction with the current exhibit by the Rumble Arts Collective, Waterways of the Colorado Plateau. Artworks by the collective, and traditional Hopi carvings and baskets by Nuvadi and Marvene Dawahoya will be available for purchase. Refreshments are served. Open Doors: Art in Action gallery is located in the Church of the Epiphany, 423 N. Beaver.
