Pickin’ in the Pines is celebrating our 16th year of festivating this Sept. 16-18, 2022. The festival is located at Pepsi Amphitheater at Fort Tuthill County Park in Flagstaff, AZ. Join us for three full days of great music, jamming, camping, educational workshops, band contest, community dance, kids activities, and more! Pickin’ in the Pines was voted the “Best Festival” in Flagstaff for the last 4 years by readers of the Arizona Daily Sun.

Tickets:  3-Day tickets and single day tickets are on sale now with advance pricing through September 15, 2021. All tickets can be purchased online at pickininthepines.org. Our Community Dance is Back!: 

The Pickin’ in the Pines legendary barn dance is back! After a missing last year because of COVID-19 precautions, we are excited to host our community dance once again on Friday night, Sept. 16, 2022. This year, the dance will be held outside under the Workshop Stage Tent right next to the barn at Ft. Tuthill County Park. Dust off your dancing shoes and join us for everyone’s favorite Friday night festival tradition with live music by Foghorn Stringband. This dance is free for all levels, includes instruction and is fun for the entire family. You won’t want to miss this hoedown hootenanny of a good time!

Band Contest:

Pickin’ in the Pines is now accepting band entries for our regionally renowned band contest. Recent winners include Ace Slim from Flagstaff, Crying uncle from California, Cadillac Mountain from Tucson and Sugar and the Mint from Prescott, who recently also won the Telluride Bluegrass Festival Band Competition in 2017. Workshops & Band Showcases: 

In addition to four glorious star-studded nights of camping and jamming in the tall pines, the festival features workshops and band showcases in various instrument techniques and band development, including guitar, banjo, fiddle, ukulele, and harmony singing. These workshops take place in various places around the festival at Ft. Tuthill County Park, are free to the public and open to all ages. The workshop schedule will be announced closer to the festival, visit pickininthepines.org/workshops.

About Pickin’ in the Pines

First held in 2006, Pickin’ in the Pines is a world-class bluegrass and acoustic music festival showcasing the best traditional and contemporary bluegrass music, complemented by other styles of acoustic music, including old-time, Celtic, and gypsy jazz. The festival hosts a renowned band contest, jam sessions, kid’s activities, as well as a Friday night community barn dance to round out the weekend, all in a family-friendly setting.
