Come support the Pinyon Jay and its habitat while tasting our collaboration mead!
If you're anything like us, you can't wait for the July 8 release of Drinking Horn Meadery's specialty mead, "Oh Hey, Pinyon Jay". Fortunately, you don't have to!
Swing by the mead hall for a preview tasting of "Oh Hey, Pinyon Jay" and enjoy a presentation all about Pinyon Jay natural history and conservation efforts, presented by Northern Arizona Audubon's Anne Pellegrini, the Grand Canyon Trust's Audrey Kruse, and the Arizona Department of Forestry and Fire Management's Russell Benford.
After the presentation, stick around for live music and to connect with the Pinyon Jay community.

About the speakers:
Anne Pellegrini is an avian biologist and volunteer with the Northern Arizona Audubon Society. Observing birds is Anne's all-consuming passion, and she has recently discovered Pinyon Jays and their fascinating quirks. Since then, it's been off to the races learning about the species and how to help contribute toward conservation efforts. This has led her to assist in organizing Pinyon Jay surveys in the greater Flagstaff area on behalf of the Northern Arizona Audubon Society.
Audrey Kruse is the Community Engagement Director at the Grand Canyon Trust where she manages the volunteer and youth engagement programs. She developed the Trust's Pinyon Jay Project to help everyone, even non-birders, participate in protecting the Pinyon Jay and its Pinyon-Juniper habitat. Audrey enjoys starry campfire nights, belly laughter, golden retrievers, speaking German, and bad science puns.
Russell Benford is a wildlife ecologist who plans and manages forest conservation initiatives for the Arizona Department of Forestry and Fire Management. Throughout his career, he has worked with diverse constituencies in the American Southwest and Western Pacific. He specializes in terrestrial vertebrates and has researched a variety of environmental systems and species including the Pinyon Jay. His work with wildlife has emphasized regulatory, socioeconomic, and cultural influences on the field.
