Fix-it Clinic

Fix-it Clinic

Presented by Flagstaff Sustainability Office at Joe C. Montoya Community and Senior Center

At community Fix-it Clinics, we support sustainable consumption and divert waste from the landfill by fixing items that would usually end up in the trash.

When?
Saturday, July 16, 2022. The event will be held from 10am-2pm and appointments are strongly encouraged.

Where?
Joe C. Montoya Community & Senior Center located at 245 N. Thorpe Rd.

How does it work?

First, it is recommended that you make an appointment for the next Fix-it Clinic. Appointments are not required, however, items with appointments will be given priority.
On the day of the event, you will bring your item to the Clinic, and a volunteer will work with you to fix the item. Some of the most common items that our volunteers fix are lamps, coffee makers, and clothing items.
If your item cannot be fixed, we will provide you with a list of options, including recycling the item, coming to the next Fix-it Clinic with additional materials to fix the item, or working with another fixer in the future.

What have past clinics looked like?
Fix-it Clinics typically take place every 4 months. At our most recent Clinic, more than 50 items were fixed with a 68% fix rate, effectively diverting 230 lbs. of items from the landfill and putting them back into use!
Can I volunteer to fix things?
