Gov't Mule is an American Southern rock jam band founded in 1994 by guitarist Warren Haynes and bassist Allen Woody as a side project of the Allman Brothers Band. The band's debut album, Gov't Mule, was launched in 1995, and they have since released nine studio albums, as well as numerous EPs and live performances. Gov't Mule has become a feature at music festivals across North America, with members of the band and frequent guests from other well-known bands contributing funk and blues rock components to the band's sound.
