Young authors ages 9-13 will learn from professionals about composing their own stories, books, and memes.
Come and explore your artistic self through creative writing in this weeklong day camp with assistance from expert instructors. Discover the power of words and how they can be used to shape worlds, both imagined and real. You’ll focus on poetry, fiction, and creative nonfiction.
Young Authors will experience: techniques and forms such as six-word stories, ballads, monologues, microblogs and found poetry daily writing prompts designed to spark creativity and sharpen our capacity for observation discussions and activities to enrich our understanding of ourselves and others in a safe and collaborative space writing workshops to develop editing and revision skills campus-oriented field trips to acquaint ourselves with the arts and letters at NAU a zine-making workshop with hands-on practice using zine-making supplies
