In one of the most extraordinary film debuts since Orson Welles’ “Citizen Kane,” Peter Bogdanovich’s first film, “The Last Picture Show,” is a sad, and moving classic, adapted from Larry McMurtry’s small Texas town coming of age novel, that was nominated for eight Oscars and won for veteran actors Ben Johnson and Cloris Leachman in unforgettable supporting roles.
Starring Jeff Bridges, Cybill Shepherd and Timothy Bottoms.
