The College of Arts & Letters/College of Social and Behavioral Sciences Film Series continues to celebrate the films that turned 50 this year with a screening of The Last Picture Show, the classic that marked the debut of filmmaker Peter Bogdanovich.

In one of the most extraordinary film debuts since Orson Welles’ “Citizen Kane,” Peter Bogdanovich’s first film, “The Last Picture Show,” is a sad, and moving classic, adapted from  Larry McMurtry’s small Texas town coming of age novel, that was nominated for eight Oscars and won for veteran actors Ben Johnson and Cloris Leachman in unforgettable supporting roles.
