Katherine Allen grew up in Venezuela, Colombia, Australia, and Hong Kong. After college graduation, she served for 2 years in the Peace Corps. She earned her M.P.H. in Health Education, Health Communication, and International Health from Tulane University's School of Public Health and Tropical Medicine. She currently teaches health sciences at NAU, including creating and teaching a brand new health and climate change online course.
