Springs: Grand Canyon’s Hidden Waters

Springs: Grand Canyon’s Hidden Waters

Presented by Museum of Northern Arizona at Museum of Northern Arizona

Many of these springs function as islands of habitat, supporting unique, endangered, and rare species. MNA Curator of Ecology Dr. Larry Stevens is the Director of the Springs Stewardship Institute, a global initiative to survey, rehabilitate, and steward spring systems. He has studied springs in the Grand Canyon for 20 years. In the fourth presentation exploring and sharing MNA's ongoing research and connections to the Grand Canyon, Dr. Stevens talks about the many springs and their unique and important role in the Grand Canyon ecosystem.
Previous Grand Canyon Talks are found among MNA videos in the Grand Canyon playlist and also on the Museum of Northern YouTube Channel
