A safe, social distancing, outdoor workshop using monotype as a medium to explore and enhance our creativity September 19th and 20th.
Monotypes are a quick-to-learn medium that encourages exploration and creativity. The Plein Air Monotypes workshop will teach the basics of this spontaneous, fun printmaking medium outdoors in a social distanced, safe environment. The class takes place in Doney Park with views of Mount Elden and the Peaks.
Non-toxic solvent-free inks will be used in a variety of techniques to make monotypes. Press printing and hand printing will be used to create unique, one-0f-a-kind prints. With limited class size, required face masks and lots of room between students, we will safely get together to play outside. And we will make some cool art along the way.
Plein Air Monotypes is taught by Deb Strong Napple. Deb graduated from the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts, with a major in Printmaking and a Minor in Painting. She has exhibited nationwide, and her work is collected by hospitals and healing spaces. She has won multiple awards for her art, including several artist residencies such as at Petrified Forest National Park, Grand Canyon Trust and Lancaster PA. She finds great pleasure in sharing inspiration and creativity with other artists, and she LOVES teaching art!
Day One of the workshop is $65. Both Day One and Day Two for $110.
Tickets must be purchased ahead of time.
All supplies and equipment used in the workshop are included in the registration fee.
The address and directions to the workshop will be provided upon registration.
