Online STEAM Challenges for kids aged 5-12 and their families.
Tynkertopia is hosting STEAM Challenges each Monday, Wednesday, and Friday at 3 PM via Zoom Meeting. These challenges are designed for kindergarten and elementary school kids. Each week there are three new hands-on challenges for kids to complete independently or with parents, grandparents or an older sibling. They require household items such as paper, scissors, pencils, markers, construction paper, recyclable materials, tape, glue, etc. Interaction between parents and children is encouraged.

Monday, June 22: Think Like an Engineer - Build a Swing Bridge.
Materials needed: string, straws, craft sticks (Jumbo preferred) scissors, glue or hot glue.
Wednesday, June 24: Create a Plastic Bag Parachute
Materials needed: a plastic grocery bag, 4 pipe cleaners or some string, a small plastic cup, scissors and objects to put in your parachute (ie. rocks, lego people, various small objects)
Friday, June 26: Learn about the life cycle of the frog and create a Frog Puppet:
Materials needed: Two 8" or 9" paper plate, markers or paint, construction paper, a pencil, scissors, glue or hot glue
