Topic: Voice and Acting.

Description: There are so many ways to use and modify your voice that can enrich a character, or allow you to explore a character that you hadn’t even considered. In this class, we will discuss and play with many different aspects of vocal work. Please bring a short monologue or a paragraph of narration. Excellent for intermediate actors who’d like to improve their skills.

Workshop Leader: Susan Chastain

Bio: Susan Chastain ran the opera program at Florida International University and later taught at Barry University and Nova Southeastern University. Chastain earned her bachelors and masters in vocal performance with a minor in acting from the University of Illinois. While at UI, Chastain ran Acting for Singers classes for the vocal performance undergraduate and graduate students. First and foremost an actress, Chastain has performed leading roles in operas, musicals and plays. In Flagstaff she teaches voice; specializing in graduating talented singers into performers.
