Tynkertopia is hosting STEAM Challenges each Monday, Wednesday, and Friday at 3 PM via Zoom Meeting. These hands-on challenges are designed for kindergarten and elementary school kids.
Each week there are three new hands-on challenges for kids to complete independently or with parents, grandparents or an older sibling.
They require household items such as paper, scissors, pencils, markers, construction paper, recyclable materials, tape, glue, etc.
Interaction between parents and children is encouraged.

Monday, May 18: Recycling Toilet Paper Rolls to Create
Materials Needed: Toilet paper or paper towel rolls, scissors, Elmers Glue Stick or Hot Glue Gun and Glue Stick, ruler, paint, spray paint, or markers
Wednesday, May 20: Create a Paper City
Materials Needed: Toilet paper or paper towel rolls, construction paper or colorful cardstock, markers, scissors, Elmers Glue Stick or Hot Glue Gun and Glue Stick
Friday, May 22: Simple Machines: Create and Test a Pully
Materials Needed: Toilet paper or paper towel rolls, scissors, pencil, spool, yarn, string, or thread, tape (preferably duct tape), pennies or marbles
Monday, May 25: Memorial Day. No STEAM Challenge today
Wednesday, May 27: Create an Origami Animal
Materials Needed: Printer paper (colorful if possible) or origami paper, scissors
Friday, May 29: Create a Puppet of a Famous Scientist
Materials Needed: An old sock or glove OR, a small paper bag OR, toilet paper or paper towel roll, markers, scissors, construction paper, other household materials
