If you like reading the articles in the Journal of Arizona History, but have found yourself wanting to know more, here’s your chance! Project MUSE article link: muse.jhu.edu/article/737824
Join Arizona Historical Society Museum Curator Dr. Lora M. Key for a virtual talk and discussion. Read the article, The Right to Represent: Mexican Americans and the World War II Draft Board in Tucson, Arizona via Project MUSE or pp. 159 - 182 in the Summer 2019 Issue.
Dr. Key will give a short presentation about her research, and then open the program to discussion and questions. Her article explores the early civil rights activism of middle-class Mexican Americans who pushed for representation on the local Tucson Draft Board during World War II and her work looks at how middle-class activism during the war forged the broader Mexican American civil rights movement after the war.
