In compliance with the City of Flagstaff’s current policies regarding public gatherings, the Flagstaff Symphony Orchestra is transitioning the Beethoven 5k to a virtual run on July 18. Anyone can participate in the virtual run at any time, and from anywhere, on July 18! Participants can run or walk, and play Beethoven’s 5th Symphony through their own finish line!

In honor of the 250th anniversary of the birth of Ludwig van Beethoven, we invite the community to join members of the FSO, whether your speed is andante, allegro or presto, to take part in a fun, community wide event. Known for his bold, powerful and expressive compositions, the 5th Symphony epitomizes Beethoven’s talent and force.

All participants will receive:

*a pre-run bib, personalized with their name on it.
*a custom designed Beethoven 5k running mask: the ShapeShifter mask by SweatVac. Avoid dusty runs by wearing the mask and wear it as a protective covering on your errands around town!
* a finisher’s certificate.
* a live recording of a Beethoven- inspired 30 minute spin class: Participants who complete the spin class and 5k on July 18 will receive the double-down challenge award, which is free entry into next year’s race!
* the chance to win an overall award for time: participants who submit their time will be eligible for top 3 men’s and women’s race awards (note: accurate times shall be provided by participants in good faith).
