The Exodus Art Show features work created by individuals at the Coconino County Detention Center who have participated in the Exodus Program, a substance abuse program for men and women detained within the Coconino County Detention Center.
The pop-up exhibition will be on view one weekend only; January 25-26, 2020 with an opening reception Friday, January 24th from 6-8pm. Admission is $5.
The goals of the Exodus program are to:
To reduce the impact of substance abuse on the community,
To provide educational and therapeutic services to assist inmates in making a decision to avoid alcohol and drug us in the future,
To enhance inmates’ ability to facilitate change in their lives, and
To strengthen families, reduce recidivism and provide a proactive response to substance abuse related crime.
This exhibition is produced in partnership with the Flagstaff Arts Council, the Coconino County Detention Center and coordinated by Jill Divine, Exodus Drug Counselor, Poetry & Art Instructor in the Exodus pods and Candace Ryan, Founder and Facilitator The Peaceful Revolution Project, where she instructs mindfulness and yoga classes in the Exodus pods, Fresh-Start and Sex Offender pod.
