Khalil Rushdan will be the featured speaker at Open Doors: Art in Action’s First Friday event, November 1, as part of the current exhibit: Locked-Up: Pain and Resilience. Khalil spent 15 years in prison on a wrongful conviction which was overturned on evidence of vindictive prosecution. He is an on the ground mentor and resource for both Arizona Justice Project clients and hundreds of formerly incarcerated individuals through the SAGE Counseling program and advocates for reform in Arizona’s criminal justice and prison systems. Starting at 6:00, the dynamic duo, Brad and Deb will provide their special brand of music. Come and browse art produced by incarcerated persons and and displays from the art and literacy programs at the Coconino County Jail and Adult Probation.
A buffet of appetizers will be served.
