Who Lies Beneath?

Who Lies Beneath?

Presented by Northern Arizona Pioneers' Historical Society at Citizens Cemetery

Learn how Flagstaff made national news in 1956 with a mass burial and who is buried beneath the headstone inscribed with two names. Who were the people behind the names that we know so well, such as Roden, Clark, Marshall and Veit? Whether the name is familiar to you or one that you've never heard of, the people beneath the headstones have stories to tell. Join us on Sunday, October 13th at the Citizens Cemetery (1300 S. San Francisco) from 1:00 to 4:00 PM to hear about Flagstaff's past through citizens who have passed. The tour is self-guided and includes a history booklet. Headstone Hosts, many of whom are family members of the deceased, will be on site to share more of what they know. Allow at least an hour to visit all headstones.

Tickets are now available at Riordan Mansion and Pioneer Museum and can also be purchased at the cemetery gate on the day of the tour (cash only at the gate).

This event is hosted by the Northern Arizona Pioneers' Historical Society.
