Hot Topics Discussion

Presented by Philosophy in the Public Interest - NAU at Flagstaff Public Library

We’re approaching the centennial of the 19th Amendment, which provided women in the US the right to vote. A lot has changed for women since then, but many people believe that we have a long way to go in achieving gender equality. But what should be the next steps towards this goal? How has feminism changed over the decades? What do we need from feminism in 2019 and beyond? Is feminism even about women’s rights anymore? Join us for a discussion on social justice, equality, and progress for the future.

Our first "Hot Topics" event of the academic year is called "What does it mean to be a feminist in 2019?" by Dr. Katherine Tullman.
