Northern Arizona Climate Change Alliance (NAZCCA) is hosting a talk by Kevin Gibson B.Sc. PhD with “Protect Our Water Arizona” who will discuss the risk to water supplies from fracking in Northern Az and Statewide.
This presentation will include explanations of the different fracking techniques and various terminology used in the industry. Dr. Gibson identifies targeted geographic locations and their relationship to aquifers. Other impacts of fracking that will also be covered include public health, earthquakes, property values and jobs.
Dr. Kevin Gibson is a retired Mining Engineer living in Snowflake, Az.
He has a BS.c and a Ph.D from the Department of Mining Engineering, Nottingham University, UK. He has worked in coal mining in the UK, copper mining in Australia, Gold mining in South Africa and the last 20 years of his career were spent working for Saudi Aramco the worlds largest oil company.
