NAU Horizons Concert Series: "Celebrating Miles Davis" with the Fred Forney Quintet
Long-time Valley first-call trumpeter Fred Forney pays homage to nine-time Grammy Award winner Miles Dewey Davis III (May 26, 1926 – September 28, 1991). For over fifty years, Miles has been considered one of the leading innovators in the evolution of jazz music, pioneering Bop, Cool, Hard Bop, Avant Garde, and Fusion.
The Fred Forney Quintet features veterans Brice Winston (tenor sax), Nick Manson (piano), Chris Finet (bass) and Dom Moio (drums). The music will be grooving, hot, cool, blues, expression and innovation.
