River of Stars

River of Stars

Presented by Human Nature Dance Theater at Coconino Center for the Arts

Human Nature Dance Theater is a collaborative dance performance group that creates original works of art through an interdisciplinary lens. Nature our relationship with the natural world is explored through this performance. In this specially commissioned performance, dancers Jayne Lee and Paul Moore begin with us in deep space: Nothingness. All that has ever been and will ever be, exists in the same moment. Everything is full of potential as the universe is still forming. Then a cataclysm occurs and the very fabric of our world tears apart. Here we are caught in this moment of darkness. Where do we go from here? How do we dance into the dark where our deepest knowing resides?

This performance is part of the 2019 Celebration of the Night. Flagstaff continues to set the standard for effective night sky protection and started making dark skies a priority in 1958.
