25 Years of Science Technology in Archeology

at Riordan Mansion State Historic Park

Technology now exists that allows us to identify the type of animal killed by a projectile point, the specific origin of the obsidian from which the point was made, the time period when it was created, and the cultural background of the hunter who made it. This talk by Peter Pilles from Coconino National Forest will discuss these new techniques and some of the startling advances they have produced.
